20 Minute Marinade London Broil Recipe

London broil is quite thick so using a tenderizing marinade is a good idea. If the weather is not good enough for outdoor grilling, use the broiler or a ridged grill pan and an indoor grill. The following recipe gives your London broil a nice texture and a great flavor. If you prefer a richer flavor, feel free to leave the meat marinating for up to eight hours, but if you are in a rush don't worry, because your steak will be nicely flavored within twenty minutes.

This recipe is really easy and you can use the leftover marinade to make a great sauce for the London broil. This is optional of course. If you are looking for a quick, easy recipe for a 20 minute marinade London broil, you will be delighted with the results of this one.

Quick Steak Marinade for London Broil

Ingredients -

1 ½ lbs trimmed London broil steak
2 minced cloves garlic
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
⅓ cup dry red wine
2 tablespoons cherry preserves
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons butter
3 tablespoons finely chopped shallots
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:

Whisk the vinegar, cherry preserves, wine, salt, pepper, and garlic and pour this marinade over the meat.

Turn the London broil to coat it in the marinade and let it marinate for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.

Pour the marinade into a small pan and add the shallot.

Grill the steak for about 10 minutes per side, and then let it rest for 5 minutes.

Bring the marinade to a boil and cook it for 5 minutes or until it reduces to half a cup.

Whisk in the butter. Slice the meat against the grain thinly and add any juices on the cutting board to the marinade sauce.

Serve the steak with the sauce.
