Easy steak marinades do not get much simpler to create than this delicious apple juice steak marinade. The sliced apple is optional but it does add a wonderfully fruity flavor. The apple juice, cinnamon, and sugar add a beautiful sweetness to the steak and the BBQ sauce complements the meaty taste.
Cinnamon, apples and sugar are usually considered to be dessert recipe staples, rather than something you will be using to marinate your steak, but trust us - this recipe really is spectacular. Perhaps you have used apple cider vinegar or apple cider in a marinade before, so this recipe is just taking the idea to the next level and it really works.
This is one of the best steak marinade recipes to try if you have kids who are not keen on trying new things because they will be delighted with the sweet apple flavor. This is a steak marinade with only five ingredients, so you might find you already have some or all of them in your cupboards and refrigerator. It is quick to make and smells incredible while cooking. In fact if you use a charcoal grill, you will find the smokiness brings out the juicy apple flavor as well as the meaty steak taste even more.
⅓ cup sweetened apple juice
⅔ cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 apple, thinly sliced
Combine the apple juice, BBQ sauce, sugar, and cinnamon.
Arrange the apple slices over the top of your steak and pour the marinade over the top.
Seal the container and refrigerate for 24 hours, then remove the steak from the marinade and grill or broil it until done.
You can see how adding a slice of cheese and a slice of apple to the steak make it look extra appealing, and just imagine how these wonderful flavors are going to combine. First you get the flavor of the meaty steak in your mouth, and then the tang of the melting cheese, and finally the sweetness from the apple. Serve some mustard on the plate too if you like, since its sharpness will counteract the sweetness of the fruit. The apple and cheese are optional garnishes. The steak is marinated in apple juice, BBQ sauce and spiced with cinnamon, so you can imagine what a wonderful flavor explosion this will make on your tongue.
