Flank steak needs to be marinated for several hours to tenderize it and there are plenty of easy steak marinades which you can choose from if you want to tenderize and flavor flank steaks. The best marinade for this cut of beef is one that adds plenty of flavor and contains acidic ingredients like lemon juice to tenderize the meat at the same time.
The following flank steak marinade recipe is spiced with Tabasco sauce and combines soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce for a strong and smoky flavor. Worcestershire sauce is found in a lot of easy steak marinades because it really brings out the meaty flavor of steak and enhances it. You might think such a strong-tasting marinade is going to overpower the flavor of the meat but it really will not. It just improves and enhances it. Try it for yourself and you will see exactly what we mean.
If you like your steak to have a bold and vibrant flavor, then this might be a good marinade for you to use. It works great with flank steak, although you could try it on skirt steak instead if you want, or even on a more tender kind like rib-eye or T-bone. If you want to marinate a tender piece of meat then only marinate it for an hour at most.
Ingredients -
⅛ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
2 tablespoons oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
½ cup soy sauce
¾ cup water
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients and marinate the flank steak for 5 or 6 hours, then grill the steak for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until done.

Let the cooked meat for ten minutes or so, then slice it against the grain and serve it with grilled onion and a sprig of rosemary like you can see in this shot, or with your own favorite side dishes and garnishes.
