Lime Marinade for Rib Eye Steak

Redcurrant jelly and allspice add an unusual flavor to this rib eye steak marinade. Cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, and lime add tanginess, a fragrant flavor, and heat. This is a great marinade for rib eye steak and you can use this jalapeno and lime marinade on a New York strip or fillet steak as well as on rib eye because the marinating time is short.

This is nice served with rice. This is one of our quick and easy steak marinades because the preparation time is quick and the marinade is easy to create. Feel free to adjust the spice level if you prefer your food more spicy or milder. Jalapenos can be fiery!

Rib Eye Steak Marinade with Jalapeño and Lime

Ingredients -

1 teaspoon salt
½ cup lime juice
½ cup redcurrant jelly
¼ teaspoon ground allspice
1 minced clove garlic
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
¼ cup chopped seeded jalapenos

Preparation:

Put the redcurrant jelly in a glass dish, then cover it and microwave on high for a minute or until it melts, stirring it after 30 seconds.

Add the salt, lime juice, allspice, garlic, cilantro and jalapenos and combine everything

well.

Let the mixture cool down a bit, so it does not start cooking the steak.

Put the steaks and marinade into a Ziploc bag and turn the steaks well to coat them.

Seal the bag and let the steak marinate for half an hour.
