Sirloin steak marinates really well and there are a lot of different easy steak marinades you can use for it. The following recipe is quite simple and mixes the flavors of onion, garlic, and lemon juice with some Worcestershire sauce to really boost the flavor of the sirloin steak. Sirloin is one of the more flavorful cuts of beef. It is not as tender as cuts like filet mignon, but it is tastier, which is the reason a lot of steak-lovers prefer it. It is also slightly cheaper than those super-tender cuts.
This marinade is easy to prepare and, like with most of them, you simply have to combine the ingredients, add the meat, and let it soak for a couple of hours. There is nothing more to marinating meat than that, which is why marinating is suitable for all home cooks, regardless of skill level. If you mix the marinade properly and leave the steak in there for the right amount of time, there is nothing that can go wrong.
When the steak is done, it is served with homemade parsley butter for maximum juiciness and flavor. Sirloin steak has plenty of flavor so this is one of the mildest sirloin steak marinades and it is meant to enhance the existing steak taste rather than overpower it. This steak goes equally well with potatoes, rice, or French fries.
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
2 tablespoons butter
3 lbs sirloin steaks
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ cup plus 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
Combine ¼ cup of the Worcestershire sauce with the oil, lemon juice, salt, onion, and garlic until well mixed.
Put the steak in a plastic bag or tight-fitting bowl. Pour the marinade over the steak and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Remove the steak from the marinade and grill it over hot charcoal for 7 to 10 minutes per side, brushing it occasionally with the leftover marinade after boiling it for 5 minutes.
Alternatively, you can broil it under a hot broiler.
Melt the butter in a small pan and stir in the parsley and the teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Pour this over the grilled steak, slice, and serve.
This juicy, thick piece of steak has been grilled, and you can tell that from the attractive grill-marks. In the photo, this one is served with a baked potato and some fresh vegetables like corn and tomatoes. It is up to you what you pair with your marinated sirloin, although baked potatoes are especially good with a meaty steak. Fries are another option. This is such an easy recipe and rather than overwhelming the natural meat flavor, this marinade enhances it, and if you choose this recipe, you and your family will be delighted with the results.
