This Asian marinated steak recipe has a bit of a bite to it, thanks to the wasabi paste and hot sauce used. The garlic, lemon, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce balance the flavors out nicely. You could use a little lime or orange juice instead of some of the lemon juice if you wanted.
You will want to use a good quality cut of steak if you are making this steak marinade recipe because it only needs to marinate for half an hour so this steak marinade will not tenderize a tougher cut of meat. If you like Asian flavors but you are not keen on a very fiery finish to your steak, feel free to halve the amount of wasabi paste and omit the hot sauce. You will get the same flavor but it will be a bit milder.
Ingredients -
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 minced garlic clove
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon wasabi paste
1 tablespoon canola oil
Hot pepper sauce, to taste (3 or 4 drops)
Preparation:
Score your steak with a sharp knife in a diamond pattern.
Mix all the marinade ingredients together in a shallow bowl, and then add the steak, turning it well to coat it all over.
Leave the Asian marinated steak to marinate for 30 minutes, then broil or grill it.
