Mexican Carne Adovada Marinade

Adovada, also spelt adobada, is the Spanish word for "marinated" and the term usually applies to pork marinated in a red chili sauce with oregano and vinegar. Adovoda is often served on a small maize tortilla with cheese and sautéed vegetables.

Carne adovada, which means beef rather than pork, is a New Mexican dish and the meat is often served in a burrito, taco, or enchilada or as a main dish. This easy four ingredient carne adovada recipe makes a beautiful marinade for steak and it is one of the best steak marinade recipes if you want to use the marinated steak in a burrito, enchilada, or taco, or as part of a Mexican salad.

Carne Adovada Marinade

Ingredients -

2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 cups water
1 teaspoon cornstarch
¾ cup red chili powder

Preparation:

Mix the cornstarch, water, lemon juice, and chili powder together until everything is well combined.

Put your steak in a Ziploc bag and pour in the marinade.

Turn it well, so every part of the meat is covered with the Mexican carne adovada marinade, then leave it to marinate in the refrigerator for between 6 and 16 hours.
