The combination of soy sauce, rice wine, and ginger makes this one of our most easy steak marinades as well as a wonderfully fragrant one. This ginger soy beef marinade gives a true taste of Asia to your steak. You can use store-bought ginger juice or make your own and you can use dry sherry if you do not have any Chinese rice wine.
You simply need to marinate the steak in this recipe for two to four hours for a rich and hearty taste and then pan fry it since the steak is in small pieces and would fall through a grill grate. A skillet over the grill is another idea. This ginger soy beef marinade goes nicely with boiled or fried rice or you could roll it up in Chinese wraps for a delicious appetizer.
Ingredients -
2 tablespoons ginger juice
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon white sugar
Preparation:
If you are going to use homemade ginger juice, grate some fresh ginger and squeeze 2 tablespoons of juice out of it, else just use store-bought juice.
Mix this with the Chinese rice wine, soy sauce, and sugar.
Freeze the steak for an hour to make it easier to cut, and then cut it along the grain into very thin strips.
Put the strips of steak in a covered glass dish or Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it.
Let the steak marinate for 2 to 4 hours in the refrigerator, turning the bag a few times or stirring the meat if it is in a dish.
