Italian Steak Marinade

Ingredients -

2 tablespoons vegetable oil or olive oil
1 teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon dried marjoram or 1 ½ teaspoons chopped fresh marjoram
2 finely chopped cloves garlic
¼ cup water
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon dried oregano or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano

Preparation:

Combine all the Italian steak marinade ingredients in a plastic or glass dish, and then add the beef, turning it well until it is coated all over.

Cover the dish and let the steak marinade for between 1 and 12 hours in the refrigerator. Do not let it marinate for over 12 hours or the meat will go mushy.

If you like, you can boil the marinade for 5 minutes to use it as a sauce.

It is essential to boil it for at least 5 minutes though, to kill any bacteria from the steak.
