South of the Border Style Marinade for Flat Iron Steak

This delicious marinade for flat iron steak features some typical Mexican flavors, namely the chili powder, oregano and garlic, which results in a really juicy result. The chili-rubbed steak is easy to make and you can serve it in tacos, with rice or with salsa on top. If you cannot find flat iron steak, you can use hanger steak, top sirloin or flank steak in its place.

The following recipe combines a variety of full-flavored ingredients to infuse your steak with maximum flavor. If you are new to steak marinade recipes you cannot help but be impressed with the results from this easy flat iron steak marinade. The steak will be juicier and tastier than you believed possible.

Mouthwatering Marinade for Flat Iron Steak with Chili and Oregano

Ingredients -

2 flat iron steaks, 1 lb each
3 minced cloves garlic
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 ½ teaspoons chili powder
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons minced onion
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed dried oregano

Preparation:

Season the meat with the salt.

Combine the garlic, oil, chili powder, balsamic vinegar, onion, pepper, and oregano and pour this over the steak, turning it to coat.

Cover the meat with plastic wrap and let it stand for 10 minutes at room temperature.

Preheat the grill to moderately high and grill the meat for about 15 minutes, brushing it with the marinade as it cooks.

Let it sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
