Steak Marinades with Italian Dressing

You might have thought that Italian dressing was only used in salad recipes but it actually makes a beautiful addition to many easy steak marinades. The reason for this is that Italian dressing contains oil and vinegar, which go well with steak and also a selection of herbs which complement the steak flavor too.

The following steak marinade recipe also contains garlic, oregano, and red wine for a taste of Italy. This is a rich and hearty steak marinade and the steak goes nicely with a baked potato and a side salad. Of course, a glass of Italian red wine on the side goes down well too!

Red Wine and Oregano Steak Marinade

Ingredients -

1 teaspoon oregano
1 cup dry red wine
¼ cup soy sauce
½ cup Italian dressing
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic, pressed

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients together well and pour the marinade over the steak.

Refrigerate for an hour or more, turning occasionally, and then grill the marinated steak.
